Lipo-Trim aftercare: what to do in the first 14 days
By Artistry Aesthetics | September 7, 2026
Serving Thornton, Northglenn, Westminster, Federal Heights, Commerce City, and Denver.

The single most important Lipo-Trim aftercare rule is this: wear your compression exactly as instructed, especially during the first 48 to 72 hours. I’m big on explaining the procedure and products in plain language, and I stay genuinely interested in your results. If you’re coming to see me in Thornton, I want you to leave with a simple plan you can actually follow, not a pile of vague do’s and don’ts.
Your first 24 to 48 hours after Lipo-Trim: keep it simple and consistent
Right after Lipo-Trim, I generally recommend a quiet reset window. Rest. Keep the treated area clean and dry. And keep that compression on continuously for the first 48 to 72 hours unless I tell you otherwise. Compression is what helps reduce swelling and supports the shape you’re working for.
Quick 48-hour checklist: compression on, short gentle walks, plenty of water (Colorado’s dry air makes this matter more), no heavy lifting, and no high-heat anything.
Light walking the day of treatment is your friend. It helps with stiffness and keeps you moving without stressing the area. I’m not talking about a workout. Think brief, easy laps around the house or a calm walk outside if you feel up to it.
Hold off on strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for at least 7 to 14 days. Most people feel some swelling, bruising, and temporary numbness. That tends to peak around days 2 to 5, then slowly eases over the next couple weeks.
Days 3 to 7: compression, swelling peaks, and the “don’t sabotage it” list
This is the week where people get impatient, because swelling and bruising can look worse before it looks better. Stay steady. After that first 48 to 72 hours, I typically have you switch to daytime compression for up to 1 to 2 weeks unless I direct you differently.
Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and tanning beds for 2 weeks. And in Thornton, especially around the Washington Street corridor near 104th Avenue, you’ll feel how strong the sun is even on “nice” days. Colorado’s high sun intensity plus low humidity means you need extra protection. Cover the area and keep hydration up.
If you’re stacking goals like many of my weight loss clients
I see a lot of people pairing Lipo-Trim with bigger lifestyle changes. One client told me that using Lipolean and B12 alongside Weight Watchers helped speed up their weight loss process. If you’re doing a weight loss injection plan or tracking food and steps, keep your post Lipo-Trim care realistic. Short walks, compression checks, and solid sleep beat an intense gym week every time.
Products and habits that protect your Lipo-Trim result (especially in dry Colorado air)
I’m not going to send you home with a complicated shelf of products. In the first 14 days, the habits matter more than anything fancy: hydration, gentle movement, and keeping heat and sun off the area.
My go-to “keep it steady” routine
- Water and electrolytes: aim for steady hydration all day. The dryness here sneaks up fast.
- Clothing first, SPF later: once your initial healing window passes, protect with clothing and sunscreen if the area will see daylight.
- Skip heat and aggressive massage early: I’ll tell you when lymphatic massage or follow-ups make sense, usually after 48 to 72 hours and once you’re cleared.
- Plan for comfort: swelling and tenderness often fluctuate. Don’t “test it” with heavy lifting.
If you’re a parent or commuting in from Northglenn, Westminster, Federal Heights, Commerce City, or Denver, keep your aftercare bite-sized. Five minute walks. Quick compression checks. A calendar reminder for follow-up. That’s how you stay consistent without it taking over your week.
When to reach out to me in Thornton (normal healing vs red flags)
I want you to feel taken care of, not left guessing. It’s normal to have swelling, bruising, and some numbness that comes and goes. It’s also normal to feel a little “puffy” through the first week and then notice gradual improvement over 2 to 4 weeks.
Reach out right away if you have severe pain that doesn’t calm down, fever, unusual drainage, or clear signs of infection. And if you’re simply unsure, ask. People tell me they feel comfortable because I take the time to listen and explain things clearly. That includes aftercare questions.
“From the moment I walk in, I feel completely comfortable and cared for. She takes the time to listen, explain everything clearly…”

If you’re planning your next steps: I’ve also put together what to expect from your first Lipo-Trim visit and how long Lipo-Trim results last. If you’re comparing options, Lipo-Trim vs CoolSculpting breaks down the differences in plain language.
And yes, I get it. A lot of people find me searching “med spa near me” or “lip fillers near me, ” then realize I also do weight-focused services. If you’re here for Lipo-Trim aftercare today and planning botox, dysport, Xeomin, dermal fillers, anti wrinkle skin care, or even lip filler lips later, I’ll keep the same approach. Clear plan. Natural-looking goals. No pressure.
