Revanesse Versa aftercare: first 72 hours (dos & don'ts)
By Artistry Aesthetics | July 20, 2026
Thornton, CO | $450

The most important Revanesse Versa aftercare rule in the first 72 hours is simple: don’t touch, rub, or massage the treated area unless we specifically tell you to. We’re known for being thorough and never rushing people, and that same attention to detail applies after your appointment too. A few smart choices in these first days protect your shape, help swelling settle faster, and keep your result looking natural.
First 24–48 hours: the rules that keep swelling and bruising calm
Right after filler, the tissue is a little irritated, which is why people can look slightly puffy or uneven at first. That’s normal. What we want is a quiet, cool first 1–2 days so your filler can settle where it was placed.
Quick checklist for day 0–1: Hands off the area, skip alcohol, avoid blood-thinning meds unless your prescribing doctor told you otherwise, and keep things cool (not hot).
Do this
- Use a cold compress for short intervals (think 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off). Don’t press hard.
- Sleep with your head elevated the first night. Extra pillows help with morning puffiness.
- Stay hydrated. Thornton’s dry air and Colorado sun can make you feel dehydrated faster than you expect.
- If you’re sore, we generally recommend acetaminophen instead of ibuprofen or aspirin, since those can increase bruising for some people.
Avoid this
- Rubbing, massaging, or picking at any little spot you feel.
- Alcohol for the first 24 hours. It tends to worsen swelling and bruising.
- Makeup directly over injection sites for the first 24 hours. We want clean skin while those tiny entry points close.
- Hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and anything that makes your face feel flushed.
If you’re a busy parent or you commute into Denver, the good news is most people feel fine right away. The visual part is usually the only “downtime, ” and it tends to be mild and short-lived.
24–72 hours in Colorado: sweat, heat, and sun are the usual troublemakers
Days 2 and 3 are when you’re typically feeling normal again, but the filler is still settling. This is where people accidentally sabotage their result by going right back to high heat and hard workouts.
- Skip strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours, and if you swell easily, give it the full 72. Light walking is usually fine.
- Avoid heavy sweating, hot yoga, and long runs for the first 48–72 hours.
- Stay out of direct sun. Colorado’s sun hits hard, even on cooler days. Heat plus UV often equals more swelling.
- Keep your hands and face clean. If you’re wearing a mask for work or commuting, swap to a fresh one so you’re not rubbing the area.
And if you’re local to the Washington Street corridor near 104th, we’re close by for quick aftercare questions. A lot of our first-timers tell us they felt safe and welcomed right away. We keep that same energy after your appointment too.
Days 4–7: what to postpone so your Revanesse Versa settles smoothly
By the end of the first week, most mild swelling and bruising has improved a lot, and anything left is usually subtle. We like to set expectations the same way we do in appointments, clearly and in plain language. Filler results don’t “lock” instantly. They settle.
Hold off on facial services
Postpone facials, facial massage, microdermabrasion, and anything that puts pressure or heat on the area for at least a week.
Delay dental work if you can
If it’s optional, push dental work out about a week. Lots of mouth stretching and pressure can irritate fresh lip filler.
Don’t chase tiny asymmetries early
A little unevenness in the first week is common because swelling doesn’t show up evenly. Give it time before you judge the final shape.

Simple products and habits that protect your filler result
We keep product advice simple because your skin is already doing the work. The goal is clean, calm, and protected, especially in Thornton’s dry climate.
- Gentle cleanser and basic moisturizer: fragrance-light is a good idea if you’re prone to irritation.
- SPF daily: sun and heat often make swelling linger. Use sunscreen and try to avoid direct midday exposure for a few days.
- Arnica: some people like topical arnica for bruising. It’s optional, but it can help bruises look less dramatic while they fade.
- Avoid strong actives on the area: for the first few days, skip aggressive exfoliants or irritating acids right where you were injected.

What’s normal vs. when to call us (we’re close to 104th & Washington)
Most people do great with Revanesse Versa and love that the result looks subtle and natural. A little tenderness, swelling, or bruising is common, and it usually improves over 7–14 days. Some days look better than others while things settle.
